In honor of the International Day for Happiness (March, 20th), I would like to speak about something I do when I feel a bit down and need a moral boost: Bollywood movies.
When I was living in Germany, one night, it was late and I was ready for bed, when I started zapping through the channels of the German TV, when suddenly …
A cultural show was explaining that, yes, nowadays (2001), Bollywood movies had became more modern, more accessible to a Westerner audience, and we should really give it a try.
As an example, they were showing Kuch Kuch Hotai Hai, in Hindi, subtitled in German.
Despite the late hour and my incomprehension of Hindi and German, I was hooked and watched the full 3 hours of the movie. I fell forever in love with the colors, the music, the garments, the love stories, and Shah Rukh and Kajol of Bollywood.
Since then, I have watched many other Bollywood romance and can only recommend you to try.
Here are some of my favorites:
Kuch Kuch Hotai Hai
Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham
3 Idiots
Veer-Zaara
Vivah
Paheli

I love watching Gilmore Girls. I have watched the whole series 5 or 6 times since it first came on TV 🙂
I also love Gilmore Girls. There is some uplifting wisdom in. 😊
I agree. I feel that watching this series has taught me a lot, especially about self confidence 🙂
